In the spring of 2011, Bottega Veneta presented a series of noble and splendid jewellery, in stark contrast to subtle, understated clothing. Each jewellery combines extraordinary craftsmanship with the essence of tradition. The most important elements are hand-made gold wires and lava stones, crafted by artisan technicians from the area around Naples in southern port city of Italy. The place has developed relief art since ancient Rome and has a long history. These shells emboss darker and rarer bas-reliefs of volcanic stones and are embedded in specially treated black sterling silver. They are particularly beautiful and unique.
